Windworks’ subsidiary, Windworks Engineering Limited, has acquired the patent applications previously submitted by Joseph Bertony (the inventor) and the companies controlled by him.
Additionally, we have filed our own provisional patent application for further design modifications to the wind turbine and other applications are expected in due course.
The board’s intention is to seek the maximum possible legal protection for the designs in our VAWT by applying for patent protection in all relevant jurisdictions. The fact that we have retained Dr Andreas Hartmann (an international patent expert) as an Adviser to the Board is testament to this.
These patent applications are being processed and we are confident that they will be granted within the usual time frame.
However, it must be noted that whilst we believe our designs to be original and unique, there is no guarantee that our patent applications will not be challenged by a third party at some point during the patent process.
