Vertical axis wind turbines
Windworks commissioned its first 5kW prototype in 2009 in Australia. The commercial manufacture will commence in 2010. First direct sales of this innovative , new product are expected within the calendar year 2010.
Windworks has initially focused on the 5kW turbine as it can be deployed to a vast untapped wind market - the Urba environment.
Within urban areas wind turbines experience wind turbulence from buildings and other obstructions. The Windworks design is the preferred turbine for urban environments because it will continue to produce power in all wind conditions, it is quiet, safe and aesthetically pleasing. The Windworks turbine can also double up as an advertising billboard.
